The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it is actually alarmed about the high number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly due to lack SRD of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office focused on service the area daily. The services position created for intervention encounters a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to allow the servicing of all shoppers and maximize access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
